{"id":394,"date":"2018-06-29T11:29:07","date_gmt":"2018-06-29T11:29:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/aavanz.biz\/?page_id=394"},"modified":"2026-06-04T17:03:09","modified_gmt":"2026-06-04T17:03:09","slug":"techcapmarkets","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aavanz.biz\/?page_id=394","title":{"rendered":"TechCapMarkets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Improving access for innovative SMEs to Funding via EU Capital Markets<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The TechCapMarkets project will address a specific challenge in improving access by innovative SMEs to alternative finance: the lack of connectivity with exit markets such as stock exchanges and emerging growth markets for trading shares in private innovative SMEs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This lack of connectivity for both alternative finance providers and innovative SMEs is characterized by:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Lack of opportunity for Initial Purchase Offers (IPOs) for innovative SMEs in Europe;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Challenges to trading privately held shares in Innovative SMEs;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Sub-optimal use of public market investment vehicles in raising venture capital funds;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Difficulty to raise capital via further issuances by listed innovative SMEs\/Tech companies.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It will pursue the following objectives:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Establishing a High-Level Advisory Group and series of Expert Working Groups and capture the latest market expertise via these groups to deliver:\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/li>\n<li>a whitepaper for exchange operators and policy makers containing best practice in public policy, regulatory environments and market operations and make recommendations as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/li>\n<li>develop a practical \u201chow to\u201d tool kit for innovative SMEs and alternative finance providers to access exchanges<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Produce learning material tailored to different stakeholder groups and prepare and implement a capacity building plan for all stakeholders<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Create awareness about exits to stock exchanges and the use of secondary market places.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The consortium is composed by Europe Unlimited, IESE and PME Finance, bringing together senior capital market experts and covering the entire fintech value chain.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.e-unlimited.com\">Europe Unlimited<\/a> &#8211; expertise in the current relationship between innovative SMEs and alternative finance providers such as BA and VC investors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.iese.edu\/en\">Universidad de Navarra (IESE)<\/a> &#8211; world class research capabilities at the nexus of entrepreneurship and capital markets.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.pmefinance.org\/\">PME Finance<\/a> &#8211; think tank of professionals in financing for entrepreneurs with strong public policy expertise.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">AAVANZ coordinated the preparation and submission of the grant application to the call topic <em><a href=\"http:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/research\/participants\/portal\/desktop\/en\/opportunities\/h2020\/topics\/altfi-01-2017.html\">Improving access by innovative SMEs to alternative forms of finance<\/a><\/em> and congratulates the consortium for their vision and ambitious goals.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Improving access for innovative SMEs to Funding via EU Capital Markets The TechCapMarkets project will address a specific challenge in improving access by innovative SMEs to alternative finance: the lack of connectivity with exit markets such as stock exchanges and &hellip;
